Figured it out. Check to make sure that settings for sound on your phone show sufficient volume for media.

Well after further review I found out that if I take off the automatic gain control and set it manually by making loud noise towards the mic the playback is perfect actually it's louder than I needed so I reajusted the gain some so remember use the manual gain hope that works for you

I am having the same problem. It started today. I can't hear playback of any of my existing recordings when I try to play them in the "Recordings" screen. I was able to play them back just two days ago. I haven't changed any settings, and I double checked my media volume as suggested elsewhere in the thread.

My apps update automatically. Was there a recent update to this app that might contain a bug?

Recalibrate the mic gain! Make sure you uncheck the box near the top of the page. There's only one box so its real easy to find. Same page as the Calibrate button!

I made a recent recording with Smart Voice Recorder and could not hear the sound on playback. I worked out that I could change settings and increase the "sample rate". This worked at treat even though I did nothing special to the original recording

So for the next interview I recorded at a higher quality and got a huge file. But the sound quality is appalling and will not respond to any attempts to lift it. How can I fix this so that I can hear the recording.

I have tried changing sound quality, played through Media Player, Google Drive and loads of other apps and my PC to no avail

Help!! This is an unreliable and unpredictable app and I need to recover the sound for a transcript
